Valve Area: is a way to calculate valve function. Both Aortic valve area and Mitral Valve Area have seperate formulas
The Gorlin Formula is considered the "gold standard". It determines valve area from flow and pressure gradients.
The Haaki Formula is a simplified valve formula based on fact that the product of heart rate, SEP, and the Gorlin constant is approximately 1.0 for all patients with normal heart rates.
